The DC flick Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stayed true to its title, as the movie introduced the first five members of the Justice League and ended on a hopeful note as Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne asked Gal Gadot's Diana Prince to help him seek out other metahumans. However, the one character that got more screen time was Ezra Miller's The Flash, who also appeared in Bruce's dream sequence with an urgent message.
But what was The Flash trying to tell the Dark Knight? In the scene following a terrifying vision of destroyed cities, parademons and an evil Superman, Bruce is jolted awake to see the Speedster calling out to him from what appears to be a boom tube telling him, "You were right about him! Lois is the key!"
Right about who, exactly? Is he referring to the evil Superman, who appears to have gone bad in the post-apocalyptic dream sequence? It certainly seems like it, since the scene hinted that the Man of Steel may have gone cuckoo after someone was taken away from him. Judging from The Flash actually namedropping Superman's girlfriend, there is a possibility that Lois Lane (Amy Adams) is that special someone and her death could lead to complete destruction.
Bruce's nightmare may have been a direct homage to the video game (and eventual comic book series) Injustice: Gods Among Us, but what did The Flash's last words imply? Right before Bruce awakens from his second dream, the Speedster declares, "I'm too soon!" Was Barry Allen already expecting the Dark Knight to be aware of the other metahumans and is already gathering them by the time he reached out from the boom tube?
In addition to Miller's The Flash, Batman v Superman also offered quick glimpses at Jason Momoa's Aquaman, who didn't seem very happy about being discovered in the bottom of the ocean, as well as the creation of Ray Fisher's Cyborg.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is currently in theaters worldwide.
