With a little over a year to go until Taron Egerton returns to the role of Gary "Egsy" Unwin in the Kingsman sequel The Golden Circle, it seems every other week there's more news regarding the cast of the film, and one Hollywood superstar has just joined in: Channing Tatum!
Last Wednesday, Tatum took to Twitter to reveal he'd be part of the upcoming spy sequel, though his role remains a mystery so far.

According to Variety, though, the actor was offered different characters to play in the film, but it remains unclear which one he ended up choosing.
Up until a few weeks back, he was scheduled to begin filming his own X-Men spinoff on Fox, Gambit, which was set to premiere in the fall. However, the movie was pushed back as it undergoes rewrites, and there's currently no release date for it, so Tatum had an open spot in his time to fill in with a new film.
While Tatum's the latest cast member confirmed next year's sequel, there are currently a few big names attached that could get parts in the film, Deadline reports. Some of these include Academy Award winners Halle Berry, Julianne Moore and Elton John.
Aside from Egerton, other original cast members set to return are Mark Strong, Edward Holcroft and Colin Firth, despite the fact the latter two actors' characters died in the previous movie.
Filming will begin later this spring ahead of the film's summer 2017 release, and the people behind the camera will remain just about the same: Michael Vaughn will direct the sequel after helming the original, from a script co-written by him and Jane Goldman.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle will hit theaters on June 16, 2017.
