Comedy Central announced that American adult animated sitcom South Park has been renewed for three more seasons and is coming again with Season 20 on Sept. 14, 2016. It means three more seasons of Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman and Kenny McCormick.

According to ScreenCrush, a statement from Comedy Central's president Michele Ganeles reads as:

"South Park remains the bedrock of Comedy Central and we are thrilled that new episodes will continue to entertain audiences for years to come. The series remains as urgent and relevant now as the day it premiered and at nearly 20 seasons in it continues to draw generations of new fans."

The adult animated series was created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone in 1997 and soon after that, it became Comedy Central's highest rated show. The story follows Stan, Kyle, Eric and Kenny -- and their bizarre adventures in the Colorado town of South Park. The series uses a very large ensemble cast of recurring characters as it is intended for mature audiences. The show is also famous for its dark, crude language and surreal humor on wide range of topics.

Ecumenical News reported that there are rumors swirling around the coming season that in Season 20, South Park will talk about ongoing American politics.

South Park currently has 264 episodes (22 minutes long), and with 10 episodes per season, we are sure that when the series will finally come to an end (hopefully never) then it will surely reach the 300 mark.

Parker and Stone will be writing and directing all the upcoming episodes in the awaited three seasons. Parker and Stone described their journey as highly creative. According to Variety, the creators said in a statement:

"We love working for Doug and with everyone at Comedy Central. They've given us an insane level of artistic and creative freedom for almost 20 years. They walk the walk."
