FX continues with the Season 4 premiere of The Americans. In episode 6, Travel Agents, will Elizabeth (Kerri Russell) and Philip (Matthew Rhys) Jennings be able to keep their family safe as they go deeper undercover?
Stan (Noah Emmerich) has discovered Clark's real name belongs to a dead 7 year old boy. Feeling guilty over Martha's runaway, Philip has a hard time accepting that Gabriel (Frank Langella) was right. Elizabeth isn't too happy when she hears Philip say Martha knows him.
Stan's boss still has a hard time accepting Martha is a traitor, even as the FBI storms into her apartment building. While running across the streets, Martha (Alison Wright) notices the pay phone at the corner. Martha becomes a nervous wreck as she contemplates her next move.
Philip has a hard time eating as he tries to figure out where Martha has gone. Getting a call from Elizabeth, Philip remembers an important moment in Martha's life; her long walks. As the FBI team search through Martha's belonging and photo albums, Stan realizes she's making a call to her folks.
During the phone call, Martha is in tears as she tells her parents that she loves them. After the FBI has tracked her location, Martha thinks about jumping off the bridge, committing suicide. Stan and his partner then recognize the bridge from the photos.
Philip picks up the phone when Martha calls, but she wasn't expecting him. He apologies for leaving her with a stranger. She doesn't know what to do. Martha wants it to end; she can't go on anymore. While Stan searches for her at the bridge, Martha waits for him at the park.
Elizabeth heads straight to the park after getting Martha's location. Seeing Martha at the bench, Elizabeth wants her to come with her. Knowing the FBI is heading over, Elizabeth punches Martha in the stomach, knocking the wind out of her. She's doing this to protect Philip.
Philip finds the park empty and screams for Martha. While Philip makes a call, the kids are drinking beer at Stan's place. Paige (Holly Taylor) joins in on the fun, drinking beer with her brother and neighbor. Philip shows up at the safe house and sees Martha has a broken rib. Philip reveals his true Russian name to Martha and finds the dead rat in the freezer.
Elizabeth tells Philip to give Martha hope and get her on a plane. Would Philip run away with Martha if he gave up the spy life? She doesn't believe him though; he loves her. Elizabeth kisses her husband, asking him to stay.
Stan learns Martha is married to a KGB officer. Philip puts ice on Martha's broken rib and tells her she will start a new life in Russia. Philip though isn't going with her; not even to visit. She'll be alone; just like before she met Clark.
It is a sleepless night for everyone at the safe house.
