The CW Network has brought together the heroes and villains of the DC Universe in the superhero drama, DC's Legends of Tomorrow. This is the perfect opportunity to check out Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) in episode 11 through 13.
As we previously mentioned, the stakes have risen so high that heroes alone are not enough. Having seen the apocalyptic future, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) is tasked with assembling a misfit group of heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat. To save time itself and the entire planet from destruction, can this ragtag team defeat the immortal Vandal Savage (Casper Crump)?
Check out our 5 thoughts on Legends of Tomorrow Episodes 11-13 here:
1) Jonah Hex Returns!
Though Josh Brolin played the western gunslinger in the feature film adaptation, Johnathon Schaech held his own as Jonah Hex in The Magnificent 8. That Thing You Do! actor made due with his scruffy voice, wardrobe, and the prosthetics on his face. At the end of the episode, you really hope Schaech returns as the DC Comics gunfighter in the second season!
2) The Hustler!
In the same episode, Martin Stein (Victor Garber) used science to demonstrate how good he is at cards. Captain Cold even had respect for the Stein as he hustled the card players. Cold saved Martin's life and shot first when a gunslinger was about to pull the trigger on Stein.
3) Father And Son!
Last Refuge gave back-story to Jax (Franz Drameh) as he met the father he never knew. Jax even though Martin he had a chance to save him but he was too scared to say anything! This show really knows how to pull at the heart strings, especially when Paul Blackthrone showed up as a guest star!
4) Best Ending Ever!
Last Refuge is quite possibly this critic's favorite episode. White Canary (Caity Lotz) was just hot as hell as she went one-on-one with her adversary, The Pilgrim (Faye Kingslee). My favorite scene was when the entire team fired their weapons at Pilgrim, who just slowed down time. It took young Rip Hunter to break her concentration as she stabbed her! Cold, Heat Wave, Hunter, Firestorm all let loose as they kept shooting at her until she turned to dust!
5) A Giant Freaking Robot!
The best special effects had to be when The Atom (Brandon Routh) took on the Leviathan. It's like the special effects team saw Pacific Rim and said let's do that with a giant Ray Palmer! Cold convinced Vandal's daughter, Cassandra (Jessica Sipos) just how Savage her father really is. It takes an abused child to tell another abused kid to say that their father is really f**ked up!
DC's Legends of Tomorrow continues for 3 more Thursdays at 8pm on the CW.
