Anne Frank, Author of 'The Diary of a Young Girl' Getting A Virtual Reality Movie

Anne Frank is indeed of the most well-known victims of the World War II, and now the writer, who gave the world The Diary of a Young Girl is going to have her own virtual reality movie.

Entertainment Weekly reported that the the producer Jonah Hirsch is all set to create a virtual reality film based on the life of Anne, when she was hid in the secret annex with her family in 1940s. The new virtual reality experience will let the world know about the sufferings that Anne and her family suffered during the time of the Holocaust.

"To experience this film will be to immerse oneself into a place and time, to move about a room, amongst the people, and sense the moment in a way never possible before [virtual reality]."

During the recently held press conference, writer-director Danny Abrahms shed light on his vision on the upcoming virtual reality film titled, Anne. Danny stated that Anne's diary has helped the world in knowing what exactly happened during 1942 to 1944. The director was quoted by Hollywood Reporter as responding:

"Anne Frank's story has kept the memory of the Holocaust alive and promoted tolerance for generations. We are deeply committed to sharing Anne's experience using cutting-edge modes of storytelling so that her story can live on and reach as many young people as possible."

The only known footage of Anne comes from a 1941 silent film that was recorded by her newlywed next-door neighbor. In the uploaded video, Anne can be seen leaning out of a second-floor window, in which she is trying to see the new neighbors. Check out the only available footage of Anne:

The German born Anne Frank lived most of her life in or near Amsterdam. At the age of 13, she went into hiding with her family when the Nazis took control over of Germany. The Frank family then decided to find comfort in the building where her father, Otto Frank, worked. The entire family hid inside the hidden rooms behind a bookcase. It was during this same time when Anne started to write her life's experiences in her diary. Her writing was later found by the helpers and published as The Diary of a Young Girl.

Anne will be produced by CGO Studios. Tthere is no release date as of right now.
