FX continues with the Season 4 premiere of The Americans. In episode 11, Dinner for Seven, will Elizabeth (Kerri Russell) and Philip (Matthew Rhys) Jennings be able to keep their family safe as they go deeper undercover?
Pastor Tim shows up at the household and offers his apologies. Philip and Elizabeth make it up to Pastor Tim by inviting him to dinner.
As her cover, Elizabeth tells Young's husband that she is fake pregnant. He wants her to have an abortion so that he can save his marriage. Stan tells Philip what's going on at work; the death of his boss.
After Paige gives up info about what she's doing with Pastor Tim, Philip tells Elizabeth what he overheard. How would the Center know where Stan's boss is if it wasn't for Philip's report?
During church, Elizabeth pays a visit to Pastor Tim. She explains that her world was falling apart after Alice made the accusations. Pastor Tim looks like he is starting to understand her. Elsewhere, Stan meets with Oleg and reveals what the FBI office thinks of him as an asset. Oleg doesn't even know about the hit on Stan's boss.
Because Oleg can't even say anything, Stan accuses the Center for the deaths of Nina and his boss. He doesn't want Oleg on his conscience. The two shake hands before Stan drives away in his car.
As the family prepares the dinner with Pastor Tim, Alice shows up in the kitchen with Elizabeth. Alice offers her apologies but Elizabeth knows she would do the same. Stan ends up meeting with Pastor Tim and Alice, who know the Jennings are really spies.
Stan starts the awkward conversations as he talks about his divorce. The family cringes when Pastor Tim learns Stan works for the FBI. In disguise, Philip takes Gabriel to a medical research facility. Philip tells Young's husband that Patty (Elizabeth) and his unborn child is dead. They want him to pay for the funeral expenses.
Gabriel stays in the office, searching for the codes while Philip gets the money from Young's husband. Pastor Tim jokes around with Elizabeth about Stan before he starts talking about God and faith. Returning back to the office, Young's husband offers his apology one last time.
Stan discovers the murder that Elizabeth committed. Philip tells Elizabeth that they didn't find the codes in his office. Was it all for nothing? Elizabeth lost a friend and she has to pretend to be dead.
Elizabeth hears the last message from Young. At the food drive, Pastor Tim tells Elizabeth that she should pray if she needs guidance; all that matters is how we treat each other. While Elizabeth and Paige walk to their car, two burglars show up. Elizabeth kills one of them while the other escapes.
Paige is in shock as she watches the burglar bleed out.
