'James Bond' film executive producer Callum McDougall recently confirmed that they are insisting the role to Daniel Craig if he wants it. In addition to this, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson co-producers of the film also admitted that Craig is their first choice for the upcoming return of 007.
Callum McDougall is known to be the executive producer of the last five movies of 'James Bond.' McDougall produced 'James Bond' films 'Die Another Day' in 2002, 'Casino Royale' in 2006, 'Quantum of Solace' in 2008, 'Skyfall' in 2012, and 'Spectre' in 2015. And now, he is planning to produce the next film with Daniel Craig once more.
"We would love that Daniel would return as Bond, without any question," McDougall insisted when asked about the casting and lead actor of the 25th 'James Bond' film. He also added that Craig is the choice of Michael Wison and Barbara Brocolli, as reported by Den of Geek.
However, as rumors and speculations are spreading and insisting that Daniel Craig is already done with his role as 'James Bond'it is still unverified. Also, the two sides may not yet mutually agree to end Craig's commitment to the film and productions.
After Sean Connery, then Roger Moore, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan; Daniel Craig is the sixth actor to play Agent 007. As reported by Variety, Craig started the role in 2006 as his lead role 'Casino Royale', followed by 'Quantum of Solace' in 2008, 'Skyfall' in 2012 and 'Spectre in 2015.
When asked in an interview in October 2015, Craig replied," Now? I'd rather break this glass and slash on my wrists. No, not at this moment. Not at all. That is fine. I am over it at this time. We're done. And all I want to do now is move on."
Whether Craig still wants the role for the movie and ready to change his mind, the decision entirely depends on him. But, his action movie fans are still waiting and knocking on his heart to continue the role as Agent 007.
