'Avatar 2' Release Date, Cast Updates, Plot Rumors: Everything You Need to Know!

The return of the blue flute clan is highly anticipated by fans since the first 'Avatar' movie was a success last 2009. And now, this James Cameron's sequel is now set to bring back the fans to Pandora and for the Omaticayans to return to the big screen.

As reported by Digital Spy, the 'Avatar' film sequel had been delayed for several times since the year 2014 for some reasons that involved the writing process. And this January was the set a date for the release of 'Avatar 2', eventually; this will be delayed again because of the slipped date of 'Star Wars Episode 8' from May to December. 

As of now, no new report of the release date has been set for 'Avatar 2'. As Cameron said in an interview, "We haven't moved that target yet, but we will if we need to." He also added, "I want them to be released if possible as close together. If it is an annual appointment to show up on or before Christmas, I want to make sure that we can fulfill that promise."

Meanwhile, the core casts of the original 'Avatar' movie are all on contract. Zoe Zaldana in her role of the Na'vi princess Neytiri, Sam Worthington's return as the human-turned Na'vi Jake Sully, the Sci-fi goddess Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang, the bad guy will be back too.

Weaver and Lang's characters died in the first film. However, Weaver says that she will be a wholly new character in the movie.

On the other hand, according to Parent Herald, this 'Avatar 2' will be a family saga; as Jake and Neytiri's love story will continue. Director James Cameron confirmed that Jake and Neytiri will build a family in 'Avatar 2' but could be separated in the upcoming 'Avatar' sequel.

Consequently, another report added that the 'Avatar' love team was see flirting on the set and suggesting that they could be dating. However, this issue is not yet confirmed and besides Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana are both married without any marital problems.
