Disney studios is adding the timeless tale of Snow White to the live-action lineup!
Disney's Snow White is the first Disney Princess of the franchise, the original film's first release dates back to February 4, 1937. The character of Snow White was voiced by Adriana Caselotti who also voiced Juliet from The Wizard of Oz.
Snow White has been given numerous movie adaptations over the years, these adaptations include "Mirror Mirror" (2012) starring Julia Roberts and Lily Collins, "Snow White: The Fairest of Them All" (2001) starring Miranda Richardson and Kristin Kreuk , "Snow White and the Huntsman" starring Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart, and many others. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming Disney live-action is negotiating to hire Erin Cressida Wilson as the scriptwriter.
The film will feature classic movie tracks such as "Heigh-Ho" and "Someday My Prince Will Come." But according to GameSpot, the film is said to also produce "NEW" songs to be written by songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who also wrote the lyrics for La La Land just recently.
Disney has achieved huge success with the live action adaptations of its classic movie and have gained quite a fortune. With box office earnings of $201,148,159 for Cinderella (2015), $241,407,328 for Maleficent (2014), $363,995,937 for The Jungle Book (2016), and more. Snow White joins the list for a live action remake, the list includes Beauty and the Beast (directed by Bill Condon ), and the upcoming The Lion King (directed by Jon Favreau), Mulan (screenplay by Lauren Hynek and Rick Jaffa ), Dumbo (Directed by Tim Burton), The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and more.
With all the exciting Disney live-action in the lineup, it's getting obvious that Disney doesn't plan to stop with the live-action franchise any time soon.
