The divorce of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon has now been legalized.
"America's Got Talent" host Nick Cannon first filed for divorce with singer Mariah Carey in January 2015, when their split was first announced back in 2014. Mariah and Nick remained on good terms while ironing out the final details of their split up.
The two had a six-year marriage that began in 2008, Nick and Mariah have two children namely Moroccan Scott (5 years old) and Monroe (5 year old) who they have shared custody over. The two parents even gave their word that they will remain united despite their divorce for their children's sake.
According to E! News, Nick Cannon said in an interview that Mariah and Nick remain in great status with each other and are moving things along very well so that they may continue to live a happy life. Nick states that he is happy for his ex-wife Mariah and her future endeavors, may it be personal or non personal. Nick hopes that the media won't manipulate his words and actions like he claims they do. Nick also said that his life is an "Open Book" and proud of it. This was back in June.
Nick further said that he has been reflecting on his life as a father and how he may be the best that he can be. Mr. Cannon nicely asks the public to continue respecting his family's process and also to continue with the love and patience as he and his family aim for happiness.
The legalization of the divorce happened apparently a few days before Mariah's split from billionaire James Packer. According to the sources of ET, before the split Mariah and James had been talking about wedding plans. Mariah's representative confirmed the break up after a quarrel in their vacation from Greece, the two haven't talked to each other since then.
One thing is certain, Mariah is keeping her $10 million jewelry (custom designed by New York based designer Wilfredo Rosado) given to her as a present.
