Michael Douglas claimed that co-star Val Kilmer is suffering from the same type of cancer that he had in 2010. He announced this in a Q&A session in London, Sunday. Now Val Kilmer is out denying that he has cancer or had any operation for a tumor. The "Batman Forever" star said that Douglas was misinformed.
According to a USA Today report, Val Kilmer posted a long comment on his Facebook page regarding Michael Douglas' announcement that he has throat cancer. Kilmer said that he has not talked to his "The Ghost and the Darkness" co-star for nearly two years.
He mentioned that he once asked Douglas for a referral for a lump in his throat. Val admitted that this condition prevented him from touring for "Citizen Twain." This condition made him seek help from a medical team in UCLA and he has no cancer. He said that he still has a swollen tongue and is recovering at the moment.
ET also reported Val Kilmer's denying that he had cancer. The celebrity news outlet said that Val admitted that he loves his co-star but he was misinformed about his condition. Kilmer said that he had no negative feelings towards Douglas saying that he is a "loving and devoted friend to a privileged group of talented people around the world." Finally he said that he is sure that Michael Douglas did not mean any harm upon announcing that he was in bad shape.
Val Kilmer hopes that his post would put rest on any worries about his health. He posted that some of his followers may have thought that his silence for the past years was due to his taking his health irresponsibly. He is an active Christian Scientist and reaffirms that he relies on "prayer and love" to help him get through his condition.
The "Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn" actor admits that the love and respect of family, peers, friends and fans are his inspiration.
