"Pokemon GO" may have more than 151 Pokemon soon when Niantic Labs releases an additional 100 monsters from the second generation of the series. The announcement and release date of the additional 100 Pokemon was not explicitly said but their presence could be found in the code of the update.
Gen 2 Pokemon Presence Found in "Pokemon GO" Update Code
BGR reports that the code found on the new "Pokemon GO" update for Android and iOS users confirmed the coming of 100 new Pokemon from the series' Gold and Silver. The new monsters that will be added will allegedly start from #152 to #251 including Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Mareep, Scizor, Kingdra, Ho-oh and more.
The number of "Pokemon GO" players around the world has significantly dropped in the past few weeks but the new monsters rolling out may entice old and new players alike to once again catch 'em all. For the curious and unfamiliar, Pokemon has an official Pokedex on their website where anyone can search and explore any Pokemon.
"Pokemon GO" Legendaries Still Missing
While Gen 1 Pokemon technically contains 151 monsters including the Legendaries Ditto, Mewtwo, Mew, Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, these Pokemon haven't been found in "Pokemon GO" yet. Forbes adds that the mentioned Pokemon have eluded players worldwide. No one knows why they remain elusive until now that it's been months since "Pokemon GO" has been out.
There have been speculations that the legendary Pokemon may only be unlocked during certain special events but there have been no news or confirmation so far.
Trainers in parts of Arizona, the Seattle area of Washington state, and the rest of the SF Bay area can now test the Nearby Pokémon feature.

"Pokemon GO" Gen 2 Release Date Rumors
It is not known when Niantic Labs will officially release the new 100 Pokemon in "Pokemon GO." There have been hints that they could be released together with a new feature called "Nearby," which is currently being tested on by the gaming company. Furthermore, Niantic plans to release the new feature to more markets worldwide.
