The highly anticipated Microsoft Surface Phone is expected to arrive in 2017. Despite repeated rumors, the software giant has not confirmed a single detail about the phone yet. But the latest rumors claim that Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 release is delayed as Nokia is trying again the smartphone business by releasing new phones.
Latest rumors stated that Nokia will release smartphones which are dubbed as Nokia Edge and Nokia D1C. If these rumors proved to be true then this could be in conflict with Microsoft's plans to release a premier smartphone. You should note that Microsoft has acquired Nokia in 2013 in its attempt to use the business in producing Windows smartphones.
According to Windows Central, one of the major features of the upcoming Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 is Continuum that allows Windows devices to familiarize automatically to the changes and situation. For smartphones, it can be transformed into a miniature CPU by simply attaching a monitor, keyboard, and a mouse either via wire or Bluetooth. Moreover it also supports x68 applications, which means it can run desktop apps.
The 6 GB variant is said to have the ability to run x86 applications under Continuum for a possible wide range of potential applications although they could only be used under limited circumstances, reports Forbes.
For the specs, Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 will be powered by Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 835 processor, with 6GB RAM that will boost its performance. The smartphone will also pack Quick charging 4.0 functionality, which will make charging of the device faster than ever.
The new patent design for Microsoft Surface Phone has allegedly revealed that on the top of the phone is a slot for a stylus. Surface Pro and Universal Windows 10 app was improved to support Pen input and will work fine with the Microsoft Surface Phone.
Surface Phone could be delivered via USB Type-C ports, similar to Apple iPhone 7 and rumored to be the same with Samsung Galaxy S8. For now, Microsoft Surface Phone will reportedly continue with its Windows Hello facial recognition feature for it seems that a fingerprint scanner or a camera button is nowhere to be found.
