The crime-fighting duo, FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth and the Jeffersonian's lead anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan might be getting in trouble. Fox released the teaser for Bones season 12, episode 4 showing the two escaping what appears to be a huge explosion.
Episode 4, titled "The Price for the Past," will discuss a former antagonist to the lead actor, David Boreanaz who plays the kick-ass and hunky FBI Agent Seeley Booth. The episode will also revolve around Dr. Brennan (Emily Deschanel) solving a case for a victim tortured to death.
The preview revealed that Dr. Brenan's case is about an animal that burrowed into the body of the tortured victim while he or she was still alive. This will also relate to Booth and Brennan's past, according to SpoilersGuide. Good thing the rookie FBI agent James Aubrey played by Johnny Boyd got Booth's back in fighting the bad guys.
"This is about revenge," Boreanaz' character special agent Seeley Booth said.
In the promo, it was clear that season 12 will be the final chapter of the Bones series produced by the lead actors themselves Boreanaz and Deschanel. The cast and crew are also revisiting famous characters such as Dr. Zack Addy, Brennan's former intern who kicked off season 12.
The plot is expected to thicken as the series ushers in the finale. There will be 12 episodes in the final season of Bones where the characters are expected to deal with previous loose ends.
The decision to end the long-running TV series is not a mutual, according to the creators of the show. "It wasn't our decision," series creator Hart Hanson said in a statement, as reported by TVLine. "We were told it was our last year. It wasn't that we called the network and said, 'We'd like to finish it."
Despite the sad truth that the partners, who turned into husband and wife, are finally leaving the hard-core Bones fans with the final season of the TV series. While some fans are still hopeful that a season 13 could still run in the near future.
