YouTuber Snadsk was wrong! The second and final DLC for Dark Souls 3 is not titled "City of the Dead" but in fact, it's "The Ringed City."
It has been reported that YouTuber Snadsk apparently discovered the next title for the Dark Souls 3 DLC, revealing that it might be titled "City of the Dead" and that the content would allow players to explore the forgotten city of Londor, home of the Hollows. But yesterday, with Bandai's announcement, it has all been proven false.
Bandai Namco Entertainment has finally revealed the release date together with the trailer for the DLC. Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City DLC will be available on March 28 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The game's official site provided a brief synopsis telling players what to expect. The DLC will set players out in search of the Ringed City during the end of the Age of Fire, in a mission to uncover the secrets of the past.
"The Ringed City" DLC takes players into a new adventure pursuing after the Slave Knight Gael literally to the end of the world as he searches for the Dark Souls of Humanity, reports Daily Star. As players make their way into the legendary Ringed City, they will come across ancient beasts and new cast of characters who are definitely on the edge of insanity. The DLC will also feature entirely new characters, mysteries and equipment.
New magic are also added into "The Ringed City" DLC. Overall, Bandai describes the Ringed City a long lost city filled with new horrors players will truly struggle to surpass, reports PC Gamer.
With this final DLC, the future of the Dark Souls series seems to be vague. While From Software has shown concern in taking Dark Souls 3 into new heights, such as VR, there have been no rumors so far of a sequel. Fans would just have to be optimistic for a possible Dark Souls 4.
Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City DLC will cost $14.99. Owners of the $24.99 Season Pass, however, will get the "Ashes of Ariandel" DLC when "The Ringed City" expansion releases.
