"Avengers: Infinity War" started production on Jan. 23. Parts 1 and 2 are being filmed back to back so a huge chunk of the cast will be on the set early this year. That sounds quite like a party since there will be 68 characters and more than a dozen known heroes hanging out together. The crew had posted several photos of the set and some actors revealed that they didn't even see the script yet!
"Avengers: Infinity War" crew tease set photos and film logo
According to Movieweb, the two films are being produced on a $500 million budget, although this is all hush-hush. Considering the number of actors and the "many worlds" that heroes will be visiting, it's no surprise that Disney/Marvel will be pulling out all the stops on this project.
"Black Panther" is also being filmed around the same time. In fact, executive producer Louis D'Esposito uploaded a set photo on Twitter last Monday. He said that he filmed "Black Panther in the morning" and "Infinity War" in the afternoon. It's a surprise that no one has mixed up the scenes yet. Recently, Sean Gunn (Kraglin and Rocket from "Guardians of the Galaxy") posted a picture on Instagram showing off a beanie with the film's logo.
Starting work on a new project. It's secret, though. I can't say what it is. #amidoingthisright

"Avengers: Infinity War" cast list: Who will fans see in 2018?
Elizabeth Olsen, who stars as the Avengers' Scarlet Witch, revealed in an interview that she didn't have a script yet. She will start filming in April, though, so she still has some time to prepare. Dave Bautista, meanwhile, who plays Drax from "Guardians of the Galaxy", said he was going to start filming but he wasn't given his script yet!
So while these two are confirmed for "Avengers: Infinity War", who else will fans see on the massive two-part epic finale? The ones officially confirmed to appear, according to Slashfilm, are Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), The Vision (Paul Bettany), and the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).
Of course, there are also Thanos (Josh Brolin), Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket Raccoon (Sean Gunn/Bradley Cooper), Groot (Vin Diesel), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), and Dr. Selvig (Stellan Skarsgård) will also appear.
Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle, and Cobie Smulders haven't officially confirmed their appearance on social media. However, it would be a sad day in the MCU history if fans don't get to see Nick Fury, the Iron Patriot, and Agent Maria Hill again. Other characters haven't been confirmed to join the "Avengers: Infinity War" cast, but other announcements will probably happen throughout the year. The film will be released in May 2018.
