Rating of ABC's drama-thriller "Quantico" Season 2 continues to fall as the future of the show is plunged into uncertainty. With the lead of the show, Priyanka Chopra, setting her eyes on making it big on the silver screen, will Season 3 of her show get canceled?
The first season of the FBI drama might have had people biting their fingernails, but "Quantico" Season 2 has failed to achieve that level of suspense. With a weak plotline, an overload of twists, and underdeveloped characters,
For this very reason, "Quantico" Season 2 was shifted from its Sunday slot to a Monday 10 p.m. slot, hoping that the show would fare better, reports Carter Matt. Unfortunately, the show was unable to garner higher viewership. Despite Priyanka Chopra receiving her second People's Choice award this year, her show continues to go downhill.
"Quantico" Season 3 has not yet received a green light from ABC and with ratings averaging at a meager 0.76, the chances of that happening are dwindling by the week, reports TV By The Numbers. Add to that the fact that Chopra is busy preparing for her Hollywood debut, Seth Gordon's "Baywatch", and the show might just have a crisis on its hands.
Priyanka Chopra plays the villain in "Baywatch", opposite protagonists Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Zac Efron, and needless to say, she is pretty excited promoting her movie at the moment. Even if "Quantico" Season 3 were to get renewed, it is more than likely that there will be a delay in its premiere.
Chopra, being the face of "Quantico", it is also highly unlikely that ABC would opt for her replacement if she hits it off in Hollywood and chooses to terminate her contract for the small screen. Besides, there are plenty of female actresses who have continued to balance TV shows and movies simultaneously, Viola Davis being one of the prime examples.
Will Priyanka Chopra's preoccupation with movies lead to the cancellation of "Quantico" Season 3? Or will the falling ratings get to the show first?
