Fantasy series "Once Upon a Time" will feature a brand new plot on its next season as announced ABC. The new story will be told on its seventh season with the current narrative ending in season 6. Further, two characters that will guest in the second half of the "Once Upon a Time" season 6 might possibly be promoted as main characters of "Once Upon a Time" season 7.
As for the "Once Upon a Time" Season 7, no official confirmation was yet announced if the season will indeed push through. According to Deadline, ABC entertainment head, Channing Dungey as president, shared that she had discussed with Lost alums Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis about potential storylines for "Once Upon a Time" Season 7. Further, an upcoming scheduled meeting with the showrunners will determine the fate of "Once Upon a Time" Season 7.
Meanwhile, the showrunners clarified that whatever the results of the said meeting, it was finalized that the current story will end at season 6. "I think they think they would put a little bit of a bow here, and then there is a next piece that comes after that, so they are trying to figure out what that is and how that works," Dungey said.
As previously stated, if the potential plot for "Once Upon a Time" Season 7 pushes through, then two of the guest characters will have to be main stars for the season. TV Line reported that the show planned to cast a leading man in late 20s to mid-30s and is described as who was once very optimistic but became a friendless anti-social after some bad experience.
On the other hand, another casting call was made by the series for a 10-year-old girl named Annie. Somehow similar to the character of Annie portrayed in same-titled movies, she is described to be a strong orphan girl who is also mischievous and does not back down from challenges. With these unconfirmed new additional characters, "Once Upon a Time" Season 7 might be a spinoff.
"Once Upon a Time" season 6 returns on ABC on Sunday, March 5.
