LG G6 has received a major makeover compared to the last generation LG G5 and the design is no more modular. The new sleek look of LG G6 compromises several notable features that were available on the LG G5.

LG G6 is wrapped in a glass body with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the back, while the LG G5 is protected by Corning Gorilla 4 on the front only. The LG G6 has an aesthetic body, however, it seems a bit more fragile. The LG G6 has an IP68 rating making it water and dust proof, however, such protection is missing from LG G5, reported CNet.

LG G6 display has received a facelift and it has 5.7-inch screen compared to 5.3-inches on LG G5. LG has opted for Gorilla Glass 3. LG has opted for Gorilla Glass 3 for its new flagship which is weird as LG G5 was protected by Gorilla Glass 4. The G6 has smaller bezels and it has an HDR display with 564ppi pixel density and looks sharper, brighter with more saturated colours.

The LG G6 is powered by a Snapdragon 821 SOC which is marginally faster than the Snapdragon 820 SOC powering the LG G5. The LG G6 comes with two storage options - 34GB and 64GB with 4GB RAM whereas the G5 only comes with 32GB internal memory. The storage can be expanded using microSD card on both the phones, reported GSMArena.

The camera setup on LG G6 features the same dual lens present on the LG G5. The camera resolution has been downgraded from 16MP to 13MP, however, the wide angle lens has been bumped up from 8MP to 13MP. LG has omitted the optical image stabilisation from the wide angle lens. The pixel count on the front camera has also been reduced from 8MP to 5MP but it now includes a wide angle option that captures more content in each shot.

LG G6 has a quad DAC which improves the audio quality considerably and supports 32-bit/192kHz audio. The battery capacity has been bumped to 3300 mAh from 2800 mAh in the LG G5 but in LG G6 has a non-removable battery. The G6 also misses the infrared port, however, includes wireless charging (US version only).
