There are a lot of controversial issues currently surrounding Lifetime's reality show "Dance Moms". One of its main dancers, Maddie Ziegler, revealed that she quit because she no longer wanted to work in a highly stressful environment. The young dancer still thanked Miller for what she learned, but the coach uploaded a picture on social media that could be a dig at her former student.
Abby Miller isn't just losing a few years of her life to prison. She's also losing Maddie Ziegler, whom she once claimed was her favorite student in previous "Dance Moms" seasons. Ziegler performed in Sia's "Chandelier" music video, which got many producers to notice her. She then became a judge on a dance show and will soon appear in the upcoming movie, "The Book of Henry."
With so many projects vying for her time, Ziegler said that she just didn't want to do "Dance Moms" anymore. In an interview with PEOPLE, Ziegler revealed that she did not want to do dance competition shows again and that she didn't even watch episodes of the Lifetime reality show. "It was just so much drama that I don't want to see it again," the 14-year-old confessed.
Many fans speculated that "Dance Moms" coach Abby Miller would be mentioned unfavorably in Ziegler's autobiography, "The Maddie Diaries". On the contrary, the dance star only has kind words to say about her mentor. Ziegler said that she learned a lot from Miller, but she also said that she had a very stressful life as young as 11 years old.
Meanwhile, Teen Vogue reported that Abby Miller posted a new photo on her social media accounts recently. The picture showed off Mackenzie Sol, whom Miller described as her new favorite student. "Dance Moms" fans know that Miller used to consider and label Ziegler her favorite student. Many fans agreed that this was Miller throwing shade at her former student.
Ziegler doesn't seem to have any ill will towards her former mentor, though. She acknowledged the fact that it was "Dance Moms" that gave her the opportunity to perform. It was also where Sia first spotted her and asked her to dance in "Chandelier" and other music videos. Currently, Ziegler is planning to write a series of young adult novels.
