So much so that she has recently declared that she wants to take some time off from making music to enjoy her "personal life."

While this might be exciting news for Selena Gomez and The Weeknd shippers, it is definitely not good news for fans who want the "Kill 'Em With Kindness" singer to release new music. The last release from Gomez was the single track, "It Ain't Me," with Kygo, and from the sounds of it, it might be the only track from the singer for a while.

According to Billboard, Selena Gomez confessed during an interview on "The Today Show" that she is taking a back seat when it comes to her profession in order "to have a personal life." Apparently, Gomez is planning to take a break from music to focus on more important things in her life.

"I'm doing things that I love that I'm passionate about that I care about... it just makes me happy," Selena mentioned, Unreality TV reports. Gomez's shocking announcement comes on the back of her appearance at a high school in Los Angeles. She was there to encourage young children to follow the message of "empowerment and fulfilling one's potential," as part of a charitable endeavor, partnering with organizations like Step Up Foundation and Coach.

Apart from helping the less fortunate, another major addition that has been occupying Selena Gomez's personal life is her budding relationship with The Weeknd. Fans are speculating that could also be the reason Gomez plans to take time off her music. Gomez and The Weeknd have been taking exotic vacations all around the world in order to spend more time together and get to know each other better.
