Gary Barlow has landed a role in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" but he does not play a Stormtrooper. Fans still speculate that he plays one just like the other celebrities who had cameo roles in the "Star Wars" franchise.
Barlow revealed that he is in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" during an appearance in an episode of ITV's
"Lorraine" show. However, he refused to say what role he plays in the sequel. He did confirm that he does not play a Stormtrooper. "I'm not a Stormtrooper but I am in it," Barlow said as quoted by BBC.
It seems that the Take That singer plays a minor role only in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." He might just have a cameo appearance as what he hinted on his Twitter page. Barlow said that viewers would have to concentrate on the film to spot him. If they blink then they might just miss him.
Barlow's tweet gives credence to his confirmation that he does not play as a Stormtrooper in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." After all, these Imperial soldiers are mostly in full body costume for the entirety of the film. There is no way fans can point out the singer from the rest of the Stormtroopers since they all have matching suits.
Regardless, readers from Metro still believe that Disney and Lucasfilm gave him the role of a Stormtrooper in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." It would follow the same characters given to Hollywood celebrities who joined "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Daniel Craig and Michael Giacchino had cameo appearances as Stormtroopers.
Barlow's confirmation that he is in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" ends speculations about his involvement in the sequel. He was reportedly spotted filming at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire last year. However, no details were revealed about his role in the film.
