Space X is an aerospace manufacturer and space transportation services founded by Elon Musk in 2002. The company launched its recycled SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket on Thursday, which was recovered at a sea from its maiden flight last year.
SpaceX Falcon 9 launched a satellite into the orbit and eventually landed on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean. This launch was special as it is the first time a rocket has been relaunched into space for the second time, Telegraph reported. Elon Musk's SpaceX created history by relaunching a recycled rocket into an orbit and also recovering it successfully in a great condition means the rocket can be sent again for the third mission.
SpaceX can now boast off its nine total successful landings. Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX said, "It's been 15 years to get to this point, it's taken us a long time, a lot of difficult steps along the way, but I'm just incredibly proud of the SpaceX for being able to achieve this incredible milestone in the history of space."
This relaunch was a critical milestone for SpaceX as the company is striving hard to make rockets usable since 2011. Since each rocket built to date can only be used once and they are disposed of once they are used for sending the satellite into the orbit. That means a single rocket that costs millions of dollars have to be rebuilt for every mission, The Verge reported.
SpaceX has finally found a way to reduce these costs and make a rocket that can be used more than once to send satellites into the orbit. With this launch, SpaceX has finally launched Falcon 9 again into the orbit which was launched initially in 2015. This time, Falcon 9 carried communications satellite for the company SES that will deliver communication services exclusively to Latin America.
