British boy band One Direction spent £24.3 million in one year, including £50,000 on personal styling alone. However, the group did earn £30.6 million ($39.9 million) in the same year. Their biggest expenses happened during their "On the Road Again" tour, which had them visit Australia, United Kingdom, North America, Japan, and more.
One Direction remains one of the most successful bands in the world. Their latest tour, "On the Road Again", cost the group £10.7 million ($17.6 million). The Sun broke down the members' expenses and revealed that a lot went to personal styling and grooming. That alone cost £46,321. For the entire group, traveling costs went up to £801,163, while bank charges rose as high as £9,967.
Aside from those expenses, One Direction also spent £150,034 on office administration, £97,065 on insurance, £814,001 for the legal team, and £258,625 for the tour's crew. A source told the publication that the very successful group earns £63 million before taxes. Each of the group's members took home £14 million each from just selling their firm shares since they stepped down as directors of 1D Media.
This was all before One Direction went on hiatus, but the individual members have their own projects now. Capital FM reported that each of the members took home £561,872 each. This includes Zayn Malik before he left the group in 2015. The next fiscal accounts will decrease, considering the band will not be releasing new music and the boys will not go on tour.
Each of the One Direction members are now pursuing solo projects. Harry Styles will be launching his new album this year and he's set to appear in the film "Dunkirk". Liam Payne is also working on his solo album after signing on with Capitol Records. Louis Tomlinson is serving as coach for a new girl group and has appeared as a guest on "America's Got Talent". Niall Horan, meanwhile, purchased a new home and released a solo single, "This Town".
