Chris Evans recently confirmed that his days as Captain America are already numbered. The actor revealed that he last play the role of Captain Steve Rogers after the second "Avengers: Infinity War" film.

According to Metro, Evans confirmed his exit as Captain America during Monday's episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres" show. He said that his contract with Marvel is nearing its end. The 35-year old revealed that he only has two more Marvel films in his contract. Evans will portray Captain America last in the still-untitled second "Avengers: Infinity War" movie.

"We do Avengers 3 now, four is the latter part of the year and after that, that is the end of my contract," Evans told DeGeneres. The actor added that he does not start filming for the first "Avengers: Infinity War" until May. Production has been ongoing since February.

In a separate interview with USA Today, Evans shared his feelings about letting go of the character after the second "Avengers: Infinity War" film. The actor admitted that he would have a hard time seeing another actor don on the superhero suit and portray Captain America.

However, Evans added that he has already accepted the fact that eventually, someone has to take over his role. "Nothing lasts forever," he said. The "Gift" star acknowledged that it is part of the experience to pass the torch of Captain America to another actor after the second "Avengers: Infinity War" film. He admitted that he does not feel any regret portraying the role and had fun doing so.

Evans said he would definitely miss portraying the superhero and fans will definitely feel the same way too. What he would not miss though is the intense workout that is involved when portraying Captain America. The actor said he has gone back to the gym to prepare for his return in "Avengers: Infinity War."
