Speculations are rife that Supreme Leader Snoke orders an attack on the Republic in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." Doing so reveals his identity to the public, which contradicts General Leia and Luke Skywalker's notion that no one knows he exists.

Supreme Leader Snoke becomes a powerful nemesis for the Republic in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." According to Making Star Wars, he instigates a war following the destruction of the Starkiller Base in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." General Leia and her team come to realize that he is a far greater threat to the peace of the galaxy than they anticipated.

Supreme Leader Snoke reportedly plans to conquer and rule the galaxy in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." The destruction of the Starkiller Base only fuels his determination to succeed. However, in order to win, he must reveal himself to the opponent. The publication claims that with Snoke's intent to take down the Republic, he inadvertently reveals his identity to the public.

Fans may remember that Supreme Leader Snoke worked in the shadows in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." He had General Hux and Kylo Ren do his evil plans. This may not be the case anymore in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," since he would have to eventually reveal himself. Likewise, everything that the First Order used to do in secret under his command will come out in the open and people will come to know him.

This theory contradicts what General Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker want with Supreme Leader Snoke in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." According to Flick Reel, the siblings do not want people to know that he exists. They reportedly made a deal for the Sith to never to exist following the death of Palpatine and Darth Vader. This is supposedly why Supreme Leader Snoke is named as such since Snoke is actually an acronym.

A source claimed Snoke stands for "A Sith No One Knew Existed." This is what Leia and Luke describe Supreme Leader Snoke in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." However, given the threat to the Republic, it is unlikely that the Sith's identity remains a secret when he continues to lead the First Order.
