Samsung Galaxy S8 is a head-turner and one of the best devices present in the market today. The S8 has already bagged many appreciations and awards and its teardown reveals several interesting things.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is a powerful smartphone, powerful enough to run complete Windows 10 Operating System. The smartphone comes in two variants - Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The bigger variant, Galaxy S8+ features a better battery in terms of capacity as compared to the regular S8. The teardown of Galaxy S8+ reveals some more surprises.

As reported by iFixit, the teardown of Galaxy S8+ reveals that Samsung has opted for a battery that is similar to the Note 7. The ill-fated Note 7 was released last year but because of the faults in its battery, the handset was discontinued completely. However, the new battery in the Galaxy S8+ matches that of the Note 7. So, is the Galaxy S8 also prone to catch fire?

The battery ratings of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and Galaxy S8+ are very similar. Both the phones have a battery with a capacity of 3,500mAh and same voltage rating. The battery houses a 13.48Watt-hour cell (3,500mAh at 3.84Volts) and the same battery has been used in Galaxy Note 7 before. However, Samsung has now promised that it has completely abandoned the previous batteries.

Moreover, the new battery that powers the Galaxy S8+ is safe as said by Samsung. The new battery has undergone a seven-phase testing to prove that it is built with utmost quality and will not explode or catch fire. The company has also made sure that battery charges faster and does not drop its capacity over time, as reported by Forbes.

Samsung Galaxy S8+ is an all-rounder flagship smartphone with a couple of unique features. The smartphone is powered by an Exynos 8895 SoC with 4GB RAM and 3,500mAh battery. It is probably the best smartphone of 2017.
