"Hunter X Hunter" manga is finally coming back on track after a long time being in the hiatus mode. The manga will be returning to Shonen Jump along with the Japanese release of volume 34. The manga will resume on June 26 this year, and it is officially confirmed by Viz Media.
The manga that is known more for being a long hiatus taker has finally decided that the rest is way too much. "Hunter X Hunter" will be back on track! The current hiatus, which is also the longest streak so far, has been almost a year long. It is not like "Winds of Winter" hiatus-long, but long enough to make the fans worry about its continuity. With the mangaka, Yoshihiro Togashi, having an unfavorable condition in his back, it was rumored previously that his wife and "Sailormoon" mangaka Naoko Takeuchi will be continuing the manga.
Shonen Jump Global Vice President Hisashi Sasaki has confirmed that "Hunter X Hunter" will be back, as reported by Anime News Network. The confirmation was made through Twiter last Tuesday. Viz Media's English Digital edition of Shonan Jump will also be simultaneously updated together with the manga. The manga will resume on June 26.
But to compensate for what it seems like forever hiatus, there will be free "Hunter X Hunter" chapters that will be available on Viz Media's online site, as reported by Crunchyroll. The 40 "catch-up" chapters will be available for free on the Japanese Jump site, while 17 chapters will be available in English.
For those who wants to find out the history of "Hunter X Hunter" hiatus, there is a graph done and it can be found here. Even at first glance, the manga's history of so many hiatus will overwhelm readers that have forgot to track time waiting.
