It seems that J. Cole doesn't want to take the chance of being upstaged. Though most modern rap albums are filled with posse cuts, "it" artists and general abuse of the words "featuring", "ft." or "feat.", the world of new album Born Sinner will be strictly Cole's.

While Cole's album will feature the surviving members of TLC and hit single "Power Trip" contains an assist from noted leg-dropper Miguel, the spitting bars duties will fall squarely on Cole's shoulders.

"Nobody else other than J. Cole is rapping on the album, but there's some great features," he said in an interview with Fuse.

Cole did take the time to talk up the contributors who will be on the album, however.

"It's like my favorites, I wanted to go and get my favorites and then have them do the things that I love them for doing... [TLC] is doing what I love them for," he said.

"That's management right there, shout out to Bystorm, they made that happen. The same thing with Missy Elliott (from the track "Nobody's Perfect" on Cole's debut album), sometimes you need management to pull those favors, to make those calls," "They got me in touch, they loved the song, they loved the music."

In other Born Sinner news, Cole moved up the June 25 release date of the album up one week to June 18. Twitter lovers/Yeezy fans may recognize that as the day Kanye West's Yeezus drops.

It's a definite statement about how I feel about my album, which is confident," he told Billboard.
