"Born Sinner" rapper J.Cole is the latest rapper to come up the microscope for his lyrics on the "Jodeci Freestyle" featuring Drake. The Anti-Bullying Alliance started a petition Monday (which gathered over 4,000 signatures) to decry Cole's lyrics, "I'm artistic, you n*ggas is autistic, retarded." Jay-Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail may not be platinum one week after its release, according to Billboard's rules, but the "Empire State of Mind" rapper's twelfth studio album has gone gold. In his third week on the charts, J. Cole finally has the No. 1 album in the country, according to Billboard. He climbed to the top spot on the Billboard 200 in a small sales week by moving 58,000 copies of his second studio album Born Sinner. Previously, J. Cole had been stuck at No. 2 behind Kanye West's Yeezus and Wale's The Gifted. Read More »

Himanshu (Heems) came to fame as a member of oddball rap duo Das Racist. Now, he releases solo mixtapes and (apparently) reviews J. Cole's Born Sinner for artist-on-artist review site The Talkhouse. Since the website had a watershed moment yesterday via Lou Reed's review of Yeezus it makes sense that the website would want to put out Kanye competitor Cole's album next.
