Last night's Boston Strong Benefit Concert brought together numerous musical acts including James Taylor, Aerosmith, and New Kids on the Block. This concert, which included speeches from Boston-native celebrities and icons as well as some victims of the marathon bombings, raised funds for those affected by the terrible day that happened in this great city. Thousands gathered in Boston's TD Garden for the 5-and-a-half-hour event.

One of last night's many highlights was when legendary singer-songwriters Carole King and James Taylor performed together. With King on piano and James on guitar, the two played through the hit songs "Sweet Baby James," "So Far Away," "Shower The People," and "How Sweet It Is."

Singer Joey McIntyre, a Boston native and member of New Kids on the Block, addressed the crowd last night and got choked up during his address. McIntyre was in fact there that day, crossing the finish line at the 2013 Boston Marathon 10 minutes before the first explosion went off. "I happened to be on a bench in Copley Plaza, Copley Square, but I don't care where you were that day, because this happened to all of us," he said.

McIntyre and the rest of his Boston-based boy band were joined on stage by special guests Boyz II Men for a rendition of the song "One Sweet Day." The poignant lyrics exemplified the emotions we feel today: "And I know you're shining/Down on me from heaven/Like so many friends/We've lost along the way."

Legendary Boston rock band Aerosmith were also in attendance, with frontman Steven Tyler telling the crowd: "Boston got its heart broken ... but if they think they can keep us down, they can 'Dream On.'" They then went into their hit song of the same name. As the night ended, Aerosmith brought New Kids on the Block back on stage for a collaboration of the Beatles' song "Come Together."

Other acts included the Dropkick Murphys and J. Geils Band (to name a few).
