Women, Lil B believes in your rights, and he stands with filibustering Texas State Senator Wendy Davis.
In the middle of her 10-hour filibuster to block Texas' new, strict abortion regulations, rapper Lil B was taking note on his Twitter.
"HIP HOP! AND #BASED SUPPORT AND SHOUT OUT TO WENDY DAVIS FIGHTING FOR WOMENS BODYS! LET A WOMAN CHOOSE HER LIFE AND HER FAMILIES! - Lil B," he tweeted on June 26. "SHOUT OUT TO WENDY DAVIS STAY #BASED AND POSITIVE! FIGHT FOR WOMEN'S RIGHT! A WOMAN CHOOSES WEATHER SHES READY TO CREATE THE NEXT GEN - Lil B."
Later in the evening, he further explained his views on the patriarchy and abortion debate. "STAY STRONG #WOMEN EVEN IN THIS MALE DOMINATED GOVERNMENT, STAY POSITIVE! YOUR BODY IS YOURS! MY MOTHERS BODY AND LIFE IS HER CHOICE - Lil B."
Today, Rolling Stone published an op-ed from the Based God where he further explained his views on women's rights.
"I support Wendy Davis, and I stand with her. When politicians try to restrict women's rights, it hurts. These things should be up to a woman," he told rollingstone.com. "There are people who say, 'Hey, you shouldn't have sex' or that it's like killing a human. But my viewpoint is, I'm not the one having the kid, so why does my opinion matter?"
Lil B reiterated his feelings about women's rights: "Women's rights are something that I really care about. Girls of all ages support me, and I want to do what I can to help women feel good. Because that's going to help out guys, too, you know?"
Lil B, aka the Based God, is best known for his single "Wonton Soup." He's currently on tour in New Zealand and Australia.
