Once most rock bands win a few Grammys, they tend to forget about where they came from. That is not the case of blues rock band The Black Keys, who sponsored a Little League baseball team in their hometown of Akron, Ohio.
According to TMZ, Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney used to play for the West Akron Baseball League team growing up with his childhood best friend. That friend's son now plays baseball in Akron and his team needed a sponsor. When asked by his friend, Carney and his bandmate Dan Auerbach ponied up the $300 needed to get the kids new jerseys.
Carney posted a photo of the uniforms to his Instagram, writing "Here is one of the jersey's from the little league team we sponsored in akron :("

If the kids weren't already looking and feeling good, Carney and Auerbach threw in a bonus: if the players send their T-shirts to them after this summer's season, The Black Keys will sign the jerseys for them!
According to MTV, the jerseys have brought some good luck to the West Akron Orioles. The little league team went undefeated this baseball season.
The Black Keys are currently finishing up their tour in support of their latest album El Camino. Tonight (July 9), they will play the Comcast Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut.
