Katy Perry is continuing with the campaign to promote her new single 2013 "Roar" and set her third album "Prism" apart from the candy-coated, love album "Teenage Dream." After releasing an intense, somber video last week of setting her baby blue wig on fire and a deeply emotional, simple teaser photo for her album, Perry dropped a new 24-second promo for "Roar" today (Aug. 5). And this one is a funeral.
The video, entitled "The Third Coming" begins with a priest performing a funeral service graveside. Katy Perry's signature candy cane outfit tops the casket, which is covered in baby pink roses. Two Katy Cats, donning purple wigs with foam heart handbands scream and cry. Mourners in black clothing tear up and dry their eyes with tissues.
The camera pans and pauses on Perry herself, who is wearing lipstick, sunglasses, a black striped sweater and the same red bra from the "Prism" image. She lowers her sunglasses and smirks knowingly and slightly happily.

The funeral video and its title "The Third Coming" further seems to indicate that Perry's new song and album will take a vastly different direction from her 2010 record "Teenage Dream."
Perry has long teased that her new album will have a darker, more mature tone than her first two records. Likely inspired by her divorce from comedian Russell Brand (shown in her concert film "Part Of Me"), "Prism" will likely maintain the pop edge of Perry's persona but with more personal, intense lyrics, similar to "Part Of Me" from "Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection."
"Roar" will be released on Aug. 19. "Prism" will soon follow on Oct. 22.
