At first "Come Walk With Me," the first studio track we've heard from M.I.A.'s long-awaited Matangi, is a major disappointment. The track has no edge, no verve. It sounds like indie-pop bed music for radio commercials and continues on like that for a minute or two before surprising us with...well, what you would expect from an M.I.A. song: a wobbly, shattered look at world music and moombathon.

The track builds tension in a strange way. It goes back to the bland, boring intro a few times, leaving listeners weighting on the next schizoid break. Hopefully, Matangi will bring us more of the crazy when it drops on November 5.
