At first "Come Walk With Me," the first studio track we've heard from M.I.A.'s long-awaited Matangi, is a major disappointment. The track has no edge, no verve. It sounds like indie-pop bed music for radio commercials and continues on like that for a minute or two before surprising us with...well, what you would expect from an M.I.A. song: a wobbly, shattered look at world music and moombathon. After multiple delays and an increasingly frustrating process, the director for an upcoming documentary about rapper M.I.A. has quite the project after leaking a 2012 trailer. On his personal website, www.vandlo.com, Steve Loveridge has expressed continuing disappointment over the documentary, Roc Nattion and Interscope Records. When a fan asked "Is the MIA doco still on hold?" He responded with "Yep. I get an email every few weeks from Rocnation or Interscope saying it's all going to start up again, then nothing."
