Rocket No. 9 take off! Lady Gaga's out-of-this world personality is about to get a fitting performance. According to US Weekly, the "Do What U Want" is set to become the first musical artist to perform in outer space in 2015.
The space performance is set to be a part of the 2015 Zero G Colony music festival, a mixture of high technology and music festival set to take place over three days in New Mexico at Spaceport America on an unannounced date.
Gaga will reportedly perform in a Virgin Galactic space flight, a planned venture from Richard Branson's Virgin company, which will allow for commercial flights and trips into suborbital space. Gaga's performance in space will reportedly take place at dawn on the third day of the Zero G Colony festival, roughly six months after Virgin Galactic space flights begin.
Lady Gaga has yet to confirm the otherworldly performance herself. Until her 2015 launch into space, the Mother Monster is busy prepping for the release of her upcoming third studio album Artpop.
With the release and some lyrical themes of Artpop, it's no surprise that Gaga is interested in performing in space. The album, which launched into stream earlier this week following a leak over the weekend, includes some illusions to space travel. Most notably, Gaga praises the planet and goddess Venus in "Venus," while dissing other planets. "Uranus? Don't you know my a-- is famous?" she blasts in the spacey, EDM influenced track.
