"A Family Affair," the fourth episode of The Following's second season, was definitely one of the strangest chapters of the Joe Carroll story. The new "family" of followers finally get Joe to come out of hiding, but we're introduced to a more characters and a pretty huge twist when he does. Also, Ryan and Max keep receiving warnings from Weston, but might get the upper hand in tracking the followers! (SPOILERS to follow)

There wasn't much action until the end of the episode, but the tension was definitely rising throughout as Ryan kept pushing in his investigation and Emma learned about the new group of followers she's joined up with.

We learn that Lily has a pretty big "family" of possibly adopted children that make up the new group of followers. Emma is welcomed into the group, but she's a bit hesitant. Meanwhile Joe and Mandy track down another follower, Jana, who is as devoted as anyone to Joe. Jana's introduction is a bit strange, but the revealing twist at the end makes it all worthwhile. She is an ex-domestic partner with FBI agent, Gina!

Lily's group eventually gets a call from Joe, which is taken by Emma who tells him these people are safe. Though she does pause a bit when looking at Luke (for very good reason). Eventually, Joe and Mandy meet up with Emma and Mark for an emotional reunion and then Joe and Lilly finally meet.

Despite things coming together with Joe and Lilly, follower Gisele takes care of Lilly's former bodyguard and then gets chased around by Ryan. After losing Gisele, Max tracks her down and then another chase ensues with the dangerous French killer escaping onto a train. But Max made it on board and is possibly headed to Lily's home!

What does all of this mean for the next episode, "Reflection"? Well here are exciting preview clips of tonight's episode to give us a bit of a hint!
