Did the Hollywood Reporter inadvertently indicate that the Nickelodeon series Sam & Cat has been cancelled?

In a press release to honor Ariana Grande at the Music Biz 2014 Awards Luncheon, the news outlet calls Grande a FORMER Nickelodeon star, meaning that she isn't one anymore; weird considering she is currently on the network comedy, Sam & Cat. They go on to say "Grande starred as aspiring artist Cat Valentine on the hit Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious, then reprised the role on the spin-off Sam & Cat." They talk about the show in the past tense as if Grande is not on it anymore.

The Luncheon is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 8 and will honor Grande with the Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award. Grande tells the Hollywood Reporter when asked about the award that, "Music has always been my first love, so receiving this award is a true honor for me."

With all the rumors and speculation that have been circling for the past month it's no wonder why the news website would think that Sam & Cat has been cancelled. It still up in the air if the show, which is currently in hiatus, will be coming back once it completes its first season run. The stars of the show Grande and Jennette McCrudy have been pretty vocal in recent weeks about their unfair treatment at Nickelodeon.

Recent rumors indicated that Grande was making more money than her co-star, which Grande took to her Facebook page to clear up saying "I am not making more money than my co-star, nor do I think I should be. I am, have been and always will be about equality and fairness."

This is just one of the rumors of the behind-the-scenes drama at the show. McCurdy addressed her side of the story a few weeks ago saying that she was very unhappy with her treatment at Nickelodeon saying "I was put in an uncomfortable, compromising, unfair situation (many of you have guessed what it is) and I had to look out for me. I chose to not go because sticking up for what is right and what is fair is what my mom taught me is ALWAYS the most important thing."

No news yet from the Hollywood Reporter if this was just a slipup or if they know something that the rest of us don't, about the fate of the hit Nickelodeon show.
