With the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles creeping up on us (Friday, Aug 8), star Megan Fox appears excited ... but just about the film itself, not necessarily about all of the press that goes along with it, according to an interview with the Daily News. Also discussed in the piece was her fellow female celeb Jennifer Lawrence and Fox's once-upon-a-time co-star Shia LaBeouf

"It's never something that I really enjoy," she says about the red carpet, "so I've always tried to stay away from it as much as possible." And apparently, she'd be quite content leaving it all behind.

Regardless, the actress has been hamming it up to promote the new Turtles film, which of course, is the reboot of the 1980s / 90s franchise. In the film, Fox plays April O'Neil, the reporter who befriends the turtles over the course of the story, occasionally acting as a press contact.

In her interview with the publication, the actress discusses just why she was attracted to the role of the reporter, claiming there's a respect for strong women. "I think [fearlessness] is something you're born with." On the topic, she raves about the fearlessness of Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence, stating, "I definitely think she's ruling the world right now."

Of course, the This Is 40 star is certainly no stranger to fearlessness herself, after she was practically thrown into stardom following her role in the 2007 film Transformers.

When asked about her then co-star, Shia LaBeouf, Fox appears to be nothing but hopeful, saying, "I'm not worried about Shia. I love my Shia. He's perfectly fine. I haven't talked to him in a couple of years, but I don't worry about him. He's a brilliant kid, talented and funny. ... There's no reason to worry."

Perhaps she hasn't been keeping up with the latest Shia LaBeouf news?
