With True Detective season 2 hype building mostly because of new casting rumors, series creator Nic Pizzolatto should be overwhelmed and worried about how his 2015 episodes will turn out, right? Well according to a new interview, the writer isn't at all concerned with what we expect and plans one making season 2 "personal," and says he's "not in the service business" when it comes to our expectations.
"As a creator, you always have one eye on the back of the room, where you know they're loading their guns and building your gallows," he told The Hollywood Reporter in a new profile running this month. "You almost feel like issuing a disclaimer: 'This show will not change your life.'"

Also, according to a new report, Pizzolatto has been accused of plagiarizing writer Thomas Ligotti - namely, his nonfiction book The Conspiracy Against the Human Race. The Lovecraft e-Zine writer Mike Davis along with Ligotti website author Jon Padgett recently discussed this theory, coming to a sad conclusion for True Detective fans.
"Lifting Ligotti's work without permission or attribution may have or may not have been a consciously malicious decision, but in any case it was neither honorable nor reverential," Padgett said.
