Ben Affleck is starring in the popular book-turned-movie "Gone Girl" and he reveals to Details Magazine that he had to commit to looking "puffy and hungover."

The road to getting "puffy and hungover" sounds enticing, even if the result not so enticing. But that's all in a day's work for Mr. Affleck.

"When you look at a movie and think, 'Oh, that's the real guy,' that's probably a good thing," Affleck explains. "You know what I mean? Like, in the book, for example, it said that he was puffy and hungover. And I dedicated myself to that, and I think its quite convincing."

That is some real method acting there Ben!

Gone Girl is based on a husband, played by Affleck, whose wife has gone missing. During the investigation and throughout the movie, viewers are undecided if he had a part in her disappearance and questionable murder.

Like his character Nick, who battles with drinking during the investigation and media scrutiny, Affleck could relate. "I definitely can remember times when I thought, 'Look, I'm just going to be myself and do what I want to do and live my life in a really honest way."

And he did, Vegas style.

The actor admitted to reports of counting cards in a Las Vegas casino.

"That is a true story," he said. "I mean, that took place, I took some time to learn the game and because I'm a decent blackjack player. And once I became decent, the casinos asked me not to play blackjack. I mean, the fact that being good at the game is against the rules at casinos should tell you something about casinos."
