Over the past week or so the headlines have been all about Roger Goodell, Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson, and it seems Supernanny Jo Frost wants to change that. Today, individually, both her and the NFL commissioner, Goodell, issued words of warning for the football stars in trouble, and for any stars that may potentially find themselves in trouble. Can Frost, or Goodell, or anyone save the NFL?
Today Frost said she was "very saddened" at the Peterson case, and that she believes she can help him. She continued "He needs parental coaching. And I hope he picks up the phone." However, Goodell may count himself lucky that he held a press conference today. The commissioner has received stick for almost every action, so imagine the abuse he'd receive for saying nothing when Supernanny herself had her say. Luckily he did just that, and delivered the answers to everyone's questions.
Goodell insisted "Over the past several weeks, we have see all to much of the NFL doing wrong, that starts with me. The same mistakes cannot be repeated. We will implement new conduct policies ... my goal is to implement this by the Super Bowl. I believe I have the support of the owners. That is clear to me."
Goodell went on to answer questions and to say more, but these words were enough to show the NFL, and the world, that he's ready to take drastic action to save the NFL. He had previously spoke to CBS, but then he went quiet for days on end, until this tell-all press conference.
Did we learn anything new from this press conference, and who has more chance of changing things, him, or Supernanny?
