Last Man Standing is bringing another Home Improvement star to its show to guest star this season and it's going to be great. Patricia Richardson (who played Jim Taylor on Home Improvement) is booked to reunite with her former costar Tim Allen on the ABC comedy.
Entertainment Weekly exclusively learned that Patricia will play Helen Potts in the upcoming season. Helen is "a recently divorced neighbor of Mike's (Allen) who has gotten into a bit of conflict with Mike's frenemy, Chuck (Jonathan Adams)," the publication reported. "Hilariously enough, Helen likes to do home repairs and stubbornly insists on running her tile saw early in the morning, which disturbs the neighborhood."
Patricia's character thinks her ex-husband was terrible at home repairs and is pretty bitter about the fact that he destroyed their house in the process. According to the publication Helen will become friends with Mike's wife Vanessa (played by Nancy Travis) while she goes head-to-head with Mike.
Patricia will be the third guest star from Tim's previous family comedy Home Improvement. Home Improvement started in 1991 and ran for eight seasons, ending in 1999. Both Richard Karn (who played Al Borland) and Jonathan Taylor Thomas (who played Tim's onscreen son Randy) previously appeared on Last Man Standing.
Jonathan Taylor Thomas appeared in the episode titled "College Girl" in season two and then stared in two more episodes. "Thomas plays Jon, a former co-worker of Kristin's from the diner who is now the owner of a successful upscale restaurant," Zap2It reported. JTT and now Patricia, Last Man Standing is pulling out all the stops.
Last Man Standing returns for its fourth season on Oct. 3 on ABC.
