Reality star and professional trainer Jillian Michaels is opening up about what she's going to do now that her Biggest Loser run is over. After 10 years as a celebrity trainer and motivating contestants on The Biggest Loser, the 40-year-old star's moving on and revealed is there's a new TV show in the works.
In an interview with Health magazine for its November issue, Jillian revealed what her life plans are now that she's not a Biggest Loser trainer.
"People assume that I think I'm better than that show. I do not. Also, there's a misconception that I keep leaving," Jillian told Health.
"On Season 3, I was fired. On Season 11, I asked for time off to start a family. In this go-round, it was a mutual decision. I wanted to make some creative changes, but I was not a producer. I need some control in something with my name attached to it," she said.
In June, Jillian announced she'd be leaving the NBC series for good.
"After helping hundreds of contestants transform their lives and inspiring millions of viewers at home, The Biggest Loser and Jillian Michaels have decided to part ways and she will not be returning for Season 16 when it airs in the fall," NBC confirmed in a statement to People.
Now that she's not in the workout show limelight, the fitness guru revealed she actually isn't a huge fan of working out every day. In fact, she admitted to Health that she watches the clock while she works out. After her weekly yoga class, her thoughts are, "Mother of God, why do I come back here every Saturday?" she revealed to the magazine.
As for another reality venture, the fitness star admitted that it'd be too hectic.
"I've been approached about having mutual approval over everything to do a reality show. It's interesting because we can talk about parenting, relationships, health and the things that are important to me," she explained to the publication.
"But then I think, what if I open up and people attack us just because we're a gay family? It scares the hell out of me," she said.
The fitness personality currently resides in Malibu with her partner Heidi Rhoades and their two young children. She's really enjoying being with her family and watching Heidi garden.
Jillian turned 40 this year and shared with the magazine that she gained an unexpected amount of confidence with this new age bracket.
"There's a confidence and sense of self that comes with age that I didn't anticipate. I don't feel the need to prove myself now, which I did for a very long time. And there is a peace that I didn't have in my 30s. I no longer feel this urgency to make impulsive decisions," she said.
