‘The Goldbergs’ Recap: “Family Takes Care Of Beverly” Reveals A Serious Urban Legend [PHOTO]

This week's episode of The Goldbergs surrounded Halloween and dispelled a serious urban myth. "Family Takes Care of Beverly," also reveals Beverly's greatest fear... being alone when she's old.

The episode begins with Adam talking about the biggest urban legend of the '80s. Supposedly mixing pop rocks with soda would blow up your insides. Knowing this crazy myth, Barry saves Erica's life and tells her she now owes him. What does Barry want in return? A date with Erica's best friend Laney, obviously.

Meanwhile Pops has a crazy and wild party at his place featuring flaming pumpkin shots. After almost burning the whole place down he moves in with Beverly and her family, even though Murray thinks he should go to Shady Willows so he can have his own place and so they don't have to deal with him all the time.

When Murray lays down the house rules, Pops pretends to listen, but he breaks all of them. Even though Beverly freaks out, Pops agrees to move out after his waterbed breaks and soaks their room. When her dad drives away, Beverly realizes that her worst fear is being abandoned by her family when she is old. In order to counteract this, she tries to get Adam to agree to let her live with him when he is older and married... it doesn't go well.

Back to Erica, she agrees to talk to Laney, after Barry begs and pleads and drinks lots of Pepto-Bismol and candy to try and impress Laney. Unfortunately, Erica doesn't have any luck with Laney and Barry gives into his depression and combines pop rocks and soda!

The next day at school Barry tells Laney he isn't giving up without a fight and he raps for her in front of everyone in the hallway. She is embarrassed, but she tells him that Erica never talked to her about a date. Barry is furious and storms off to confront Erica.

Meanwhile Beverly is sulking in Adam's tree house eating circus peanuts. Murray finds her and tells her that the kids will never leave her behind. She then goes to apologize to her dad, who is doing great at Shady Willows and she drags Adam back home with her. Before going to bed Adam tells his mom that he will find somewhere in his future house for her to live in and she is touched.

In a switch back to Barry and Erica, they are fighting at school when Barry's stomach starts to hurt. He says the pop rocks and soda are finally coming for him. Erica steps up and calls an ambulance and they realize that Barry got sick from all the candy and Pepto. Even though she technically saved his life, Erica decides to be an amazing big sister and brings Laney to see Barry.

They have a pizza date at the hospital and Barry watches as Laney eats, since he isn't allowed to eat solid food for 24 hours. Laney calls him cute and the date is goes great. Then all of a sudden his mom storms into the room and ruins everything. It's the perfect end to another day in with the Goldbergs.
