One of the last times fans of Cameron Diaz heard her sing was in the 1997 film, My Best Friend's Wedding. However, the actress' new role in Annie – alongside co-star Jamie Foxx – will bring a new set of vocal pipes to the big screen.

"I sang in My Best Friend's Wedding. That was more true to my voice," the actress said of her famous 1997 romantic comedy starring Julia Roberts. "But that's my karaoke voice, you see. I had to actually have a voice for this song, for this film. I did a lot of training –– as much as I could!"

Diaz appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show with Foxx and co-star Quvenzhane Wallis – who plays Annie – to promote their Dec. 19 release.

This will be the third film adaptation following the 1982 theatrical film. The 2014 version of Annie is produced by no other then rapper Jay-Z and actor Will Smith. The film will also be the first time Diaz and Foxx have reunited since their hit 1999 sports drama film, Any Given Sunday.

"We were just babies," she said of their 90's flick. In the film, Diaz had a scene in the football player's men's locker room. To that, she said, "You know you have to shake all of their hands because they're your players. I was like, 'This is crazy!' They are all walking around holding themselves naked. By the time I go to the end of the line though, I had some hand sanitizer!"

We can assure fans that this movie will not detail naked football players. Though of the famous locker room scene, Foxx joked, "I was naked when the camera was off. I didn't want everyone to go crazy!"
