The Cleveland Cavaliers are a heavy favourite to win the 2014-15 NBA title, but they've started very slowly, yet they still believe things will get better. MStars decided to try their hand at ESPN fantasy basketball, and it's safe to say that our team, the Cleveland Crusaders, haven't been much better than their Cleveland namesake, sitting near the bottom of their division. Superstars Carmelo Anthony and Kyrie Irving have started poorly, leaving our team without the two superstar stat-masters we thought we'd drafted.
Check out our roster below:
Victor Oladipo
Carmelo Anthony
Pau Gasol
Nerlens Noel
Dion Waiters
Jabari Parker
Enes Kanter
Julius Randle
Avery Bradley
Dante Exum
Tristan Thompson
Doug McDermott
The worst part of our week was when Randle suffered a season-ending injury on his NBA debut, meaning we're in the market for a free-agent replacement. Perhaps our biggest success has been Thompson's ability to rebound efficiently, providing us with the possibility of being an elite rebounding team within the division.
Carmelo realizes he's struggling at the moment, but he's confident things will improve, and boy do we need them to. He explained, saying, "Anytime you don't make shots, you're not scoring the basketball, it makes it hard. It makes it strenuous, and then the opposing team is denying, taking away a lot of your options. It can get frustrating at times. As players, when you see something that's not working at the time, your first instinct is to use another option. Whether that option is to break out of the system, the offense, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Tonight was one of those nights it didn't work."
Feel free to join us on our struggles, our success, and our path to NBA glory, and as always, we welcome your advice along the road.
