Dancer and actress Julianne Hough knows how to stay in shape and now she is revealing her workout secrets for her fans. As Shape's December cover girl, Julianne is showing off her toned body and sharing her acting motto.

"I like to shock my body by doing different things," Julianne told Shape during her cover interview. "When I was on tour, even though I was dancing two hours a night, I felt I needed more, so I started doing dance moves with ankle or wrist weights on."

In order to shake it up when it comes to her workout routine, Julianne trains with Astrid McGuire or takes classes at Tracy Anderson. "I love how one dumbbell can work your entire body," she explained.

The former DWTS pro also revealed that she is morning person who needs at least eight hours of sleep. She described her perfect meal to People, saying, "My favorite dish is an egg-white omelet or a scramble with veggies like asparagus, mushrooms, spinach, and kale. Protein helps me begin my day in a healthy way. It carries me all the way through."

Despite her clean eating and constant workout regime, Julianne believes in enjoying yourself when you dine out. "Eating is an experience for me. It's like, this might be my last meal, so I better have everything on the menu!" Julianne told Self in their March 2014 issue.

"I love a really good Italian dinner: an artichoke salad, penne with red sauce and a margarita pizza. And then it's fun to go to another place for dessert because it makes the moment last longer." She added, "I'm the queen of Yogurtland. I put graham crackers on the bottom, then a swirl of yogurt and then more topping, so it's like a parfait. By the time I'm finally done, the thing costs like 12 bucks!"

Julianne is currently a judge on season 19 of Dancing With the Stars. She isn't afraid to work hard both as a dancer and as an actress.
